Lon Safko is a bestselling author, inventor, speaker, trainer, and business consultant whose 36 books span technology, marketing, innovative thinking, and historical fiction. A Personal Search Behind the Stories
Lon’s interest in the Lost Dutchman extends beyond the page. His own search for the gold in the American Southwest, including sometimes life-threatening experiences, helped inspire scenes and storylines in the novels. Many photographs in the books and on this website were taken while documenting that search.

An Inventor and Author of Remarkable Breadth
Lon created the technology known as the “First Computer To Save A Human Life.” Eighteen of his inventions and more than 30,000 of his papers are held by the Smithsonian Institution. His work also includes three United States patents related to three-dimensional Internet advertising.
His nonfiction books include The Social Media Bible, published by John Wiley & Sons, and The Fusion Marketing Bible, published by McGraw-Hill. He is also the host of the PBS television special Social Media & You: Communicating in a Digital World.
